Our team of executives have a longstanding history in the HR, benefits, and payroll industry. They are driven by the belief that CPS is big and experienced enough to deliver the best suite of products, yet small enough to maintain close relationships with clients. The Complete Payroll Solutions team is dedicated to assisting companies create the most cost-effective solutions, and work collaboratively to provide clients with the highest degree of customer service.

John Pettengill
CEO & Founder
As founder and CEO, John is responsible for driving the current and long-range vision of the company. Through his guidance, Complete Payroll Solutions has grown from a start-up venture into one of the largest and fastest growing privately held payroll and employee benefit companies in the country, serving more than 5,000 business customers with expert help from over 100 employees. John is also a fully licensed insurance and investment principal and is CEO of Complete Benefit Solutions, a sister company to the payroll enterprise. John brings more than 30 years of management leadership in the financial services and payroll industries, and holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from Amherst College in Massachusetts.
John Stebbins
Benefits Director
For the past 10 years, John has firmly led our Benefits division through a period of growth and change. He understands the importance of creating a benefits package that is economical for the employer and competitive for the employee. With more than 25 years in the business, John’s built a dynamic team of industry-leading experts, ready to roll up their sleeves to formulate the best combination of products and services available. John is a native of Sturbridge, Massachusetts, where he has established the Tantasqua Education Foundation, providing educational programs for hundreds of elementary and high school students.
Michael Pettengill
Vice President of Channel Management
Michael started with Complete Payroll Solutions at the company’s inception in 2003 and is currently responsible for the oversight and implementation of time and labor management products and bank partnerships. During the previous 10 years, he was with InterPay and Paychex where he drove business development and managed channel partnerships with Fleet Bank and Bank of America. Michael holds a BBA from University of Massachusetts – Amherst and is an active volunteer in his community.
David S. Broyles, CPA
Vice President of Sales
One of the five original employees of Complete Payroll Solutions, David leads the sales team by example, applying his knowledge and enthusiasm to deliver consistent sales and growth. He has more than 20 years sales and sales management experience in the payroll and benefits industry, with such respected companies as KPMG Peat Marwick, InterPay and ADP. David holds a BS in business administration from Bryant University.
Sherri Dimmock, CPP
Vice President of Operations
Since 2003, Sherri has played an integral role in growing Complete Payroll Solutions to where it is today—with more than 5,000 clients and 100 employees. She brings more than 20 years of experience in payroll management and support as Regional Operations Manager for InterPay Inc., where she oversaw the onboarding of more than 10,000 new clients annually, as well as two payroll processing centers servicing more than 8,000 customers. Sherri is an active member in several payroll and human resource professional associations.
Christine Izzo
Finance Manager
With more than 25 years in the industry, Christine has been leading the finance department here for the past seven years. Previously, she was with InterPay, where she began her career as a payroll specialist while attending college. Christine went on to be a senior operations manager before moving into a finance management position. Christine graduated from Our Lady of the Elms College in Massachusetts with a BSBA in Accounting.
Apryl L. Worden
Tax Department Manager
For the past five years, Apryl has managed Complete Payroll Solutions tax and compliance operations and has had a superb record of client satisfaction. With more than 15 years in the industry, she has held a variety of positions, including supervisor of new client setup and regional operations support specialist for Paychex and InterPay. Apryl holds a BA from the University of New Hampshire and is a member of the American Payroll Association (APA) and Independent Payroll Providers Association (IPPA).
Brian Long
Regional Manager and Business Solutions Consultant
Brian started with Complete Payroll Solutions in 2011 after extraordinary success with Paychex. He’s recognized for his supportive managerial style and exceptional client support. Brian advises businesses in the Springfield, Massachusetts area and manages the business solutions teams in Hartford, Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. He holds licenses in life and health insurance, and a BBA in Operations Management from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst.
Carmen Marion
Implementation and Payroll Manager
Carmen started with Complete Payroll Solutions in 2003 as an Implementation Specialist and quickly moved into the role of Client Relations Manager where she was responsible for ensuring 100% accurate payroll conversions and exceptional customer service. Currently, she manages the Implementation and Payroll Departments for the Springfield and Attleboro, Massachusetts locations. Carmen holds an AS in Hospitality and Small Business Management from Holyoke Community College in Massachusetts.
Joe Gantert
Regional Manager and Business Solutions Consultant
With nearly 10 years in the industry, the past four of which were with Complete Payroll Solutions, Joe has been leading our team of business solutions consultants in the Valley and Central Coastal regions of Connecticut—including our newly-opened Middletown location. Because Joe has been president/principal in a wholesale food distribution company and partner in a manufacturer’s representative firm, he understands the unique challenges that our customers face and welcomes the opportunity to help guide them in critical aspects of their companies’ development.
Pat Collopy
Marketing Communications Manager
Pat has more than 25 years both in marketing and in the payroll and benefits space, having worked previously at ADP and with InterPay where she established their in-house marketing group and managed the development of online products for corporate partners Bank of America, Fleet Bank and Staples. Pat holds a BS in Marketing and Communications from Emerson College in Massachusetts. She also founded the Seacoast Charter School for the Arts, the first public charter elementary school in New Hampshire.
Anthony W. Frye
IT Director
Tony is our technology maestro responsible for managing and maintaining Complete Payroll Solutions’ IT infrastructure, including overseeing all projects related to the company’s long- and short-term technology objectives. Tony’s role covers strategy and execution of our growing network and data delivery systems, disaster recovery, vendor and advisor relationships and more. Most important may be his work recommending new products and building on existing IT-related hardware, software, procedures and training. Tony has more than 14 years in the IT industry.
